Welcome on The Official site of CSI 3* Sopot

CSI is a World Cup class international equestrian show-jumping competition organized under the auspices of the FEI, the International Equestrian Federation, and the Polish Equestrian Association. CSIO competitions were held in Sopot for eleven years from 1983 to 1993. The resort town's century-long tradition of horse racing piqued the community's anticipation of reinstating equestrian attractions, and following a prolonged absence, CSI events returned to the pearl of the Baltic in June 2001 in celebration of the town's centennial.
The event is held at the beginning of the vacation season and provides an opportunity for the entire family to relax and enjoy themselves at the beautifully located Sopot Hippodrome, which is, incidentally, said to be the world's only grandstand with a view of the sea. Fans and enthusiasts of equestrian sports alike can be assured of a great time and the thrill of sporting competition.
At CSI 3* in Sopot the competitors are challenged with an especially imported set of German jumps which meet the exacting standards of today's professional course design. The architecture, color and high degree of safety of these jumps permit a variety of technical demands to be put to the competitors in each contest. A spectacular water ditch (3.5 x 5.0 meters) was added to the course in 2002 and jumping it faultlessly is not an easy task for even the most experienced riders. Without the opportunity to jump under conditions as good as those at CSI 3* Sopot, the Polish national team would have no chance in international competition.
The prize purse for all the contests at CSI 3* in Sopot is 100.000 CHF. This is the largest purse for this type of event in Poland.
